Hiragana-WA WO

In the last lesson, we went over やゆよ — a simple lesson without anything to trick you. The W consonant is even easier because there are only two of them (though sometimes three).

WA WO-わを

First, let’s cover how to pronounce these characters. You can tap each character to hear the native pronunciation.

Pronouncing わを

Look Out For わ and ね

Pay close attention to (wa) and (wo). You can see ね has a curl and the angle of the curve is ever-so-slightly different.

Recall Practice

Time to practice! Just like in all lessons, do this as many times as it takes for you to feel like you can confidently select the correct answer without guessing.

This recall brings back まみむめも to combine with わを.

Good job! Continue practicing until you can confidently identify each character with ease. Click the buttons below to restart the practice (challenge yourself with inverted and challenge mode).

Once this practice feels easy to you it’s time to take a long break and then move on to the next lesson.
