Barbacoa is a fantastic Brazilian churrasco buffet-style restaurant specializing in classic grilled meats in an all-you-can-eat dining experience — with five locations in Tokyo.

“I didn’t come to Tokyo for Brazilian food!“
I hear you. You’re right. Tokyo is full of amazing traditional Japanese cuisine. That’s for sure.
Barbacoa is that change of pace. Where you’re greeted with an incredible smell of grilled meats the moment you step foot in the door.
The meal is remarkable here. Staff will come around to your table with various grilled meats that have been grilling on metal spikes — and they carve off exactly what you want.
And the buffet is loaded with delicious sides and desserts to round out your meal.
Is Barbacoa English friendly?
Yes! For one, Barbacoa is a buffet so it’s really easy. But the menus do have English and the staff often can speak enough to answer questions.
Barbacoa is quite popular with foreigners in Japan so you’ll have no problems here. And the sign outside is written using roman characters so you can find it easily too.
Is it good for groups?
Definitely. Ample, wide seating and the ability to easily accommodate groups of 8 or so without reservations.
If you want larger groups I recommend calling ahead, and a quick note: if you want a private room the minimum charge of the night is ¥100,000.
This means the combined bill of the guests in the private room must equal ¥100,000 or more — or else the bill will be ¥100,000.
For example, if you have 8 guests in a private room, each spending about ¥8,000. That’s only ¥64,000. So you’d have to pay ¥100,000 (an extra ¥34,000).
But if you had 12-13 guests you’d pretty much cover the private room cost.
How much does Barbacoa cost?
Speaking of cost. Barbacoa isn’t a cheap restaurant, but it’s also not super expensive.
Plan on spending between ¥6,000-¥8,500 per person.
At the time of this writing the prices are:
Adults: ¥5,200 for the churrasco course + salad bar
Children: ¥2,200 for the churrasco course + salad bar
And then three levels of “all you can drink” wine, beer, cocktails, and soft drinks ranging from ¥3,200-¥2,200.
