Updated November 6, 2019 | by Chad A. Thiele, 23 year veteran of Tokyo.

Mominoki House is a restaurant specializing in organic foods and locally sourced ingredients to craft delicious, healthy meals in Shibuya.

It’s a tiny shop with an all-glass front (as you can see from the artwork at the top). The atmosphere is cozy, friendly, and the shop has been open since 1976!

The menu is primarily focused on organic, vegetarian affair and the chef is always testing new concepts — so the menu will likely be different each time you visit.

Is Mominoki House English friendy?

The menu isn’t necessarily English friendly, but photos will help with ordering what you want.

The sign outside is in English so it’s easy to spot when you’re looking for the entrance.

The staff are also very friendly and used to helping foreigners, so you shouldn’t have problems ordering that unique vegetarian dish you’ve always wanted.

How much does Mominoki House cost?

They offer a changing menu of courses ranging from ¥3,000 all the way up to ¥8,000. You can save by coming for lunch, where some specials can be had for ¥1,000 per person.

Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted, but there is no parking here — so plan for paid parking, or take public transit.
