whyte: A Café with sandwiches while you get your hair done

Whyte Cafe Harajuku Tokyo Japan

whyte is a teeny-tiny little cafe and hair salon with delicious gourmet sandwiches, tucked away in fashionable Harajuku.

Yep. A cafe combined with a beauty salon — in Harajuku. But it’s so unassuming you’d miss it if you didn’t know precisely where to find it.

It almost looks like maybe the shop was a house before? It doesn’t matter, the sandwiches are immensely delicious here.

As a man, I can appreciate a quite bite while I wait for my wife.

And my wife enjoys it when she’s stuck waiting for color, perms, treatments, and whatever else women endure at the beauty salon for hours. 🙂

+Expect to pay about ¥1,000 per person – for food. The beauty salon part of course is up to what you get done. They do accept AMEX card (Tabelog).

+If you’re just out exploring you can get the sandwiches for takeout here too. Superb when you’re hungry, tired of convenience store food, but don’t want to stop.

+whyte has a very open and welcoming atmosphere, enjoying not only Japanese customers but plenty of foreign tourists too. If you’re ever in Harajuku be sure to stop by yourself to experience its warm vibe.” —MOSHI MOSHI NIPPON
